I'm just back from a nice trip down south. First, I went to Bristol to help the DotNetDevNet guys celebrate their 1st birthday (happy birthday guys!). I delivered my patterns talk, which seemed to go down well (I scored an average of 8.5/9 for knowledge and 8.25/9 for presentation). On my way home I stopped by the VBUG spring conference to deliver a Workflow Foundation 101 presentation. The conference seemed to be going pretty well, they had a good turn out, and the people I spoke to seemed to be having a good time. Technorati tags: Community
Those of you who are following me on Twitter will know that me and a few of "the gang" are over here in Seattle for the 2008 MVP summit. The summit starts tomorrow but today Oliver and I had a little wonder around Seattle. Below are a couple of pictures of the Space Needle, and the sign outside the first every Starbucks shop.
The Google Application Engine site is now live. This is an engine that enables you to build web applications on the same scalable systems that power Google applications (and is powered by Python apparently). This sounds like a great platform to me and could the the driver for a lot of interesting apps in the next few months. Google are rolling this out slowly and so accounts are limited; if you want one, better get those fingers typing! :-)
This afternoon I received a nice email from Microsoft informing me that I had been awarded MVP (C#) status for 2008! Great way to brighten up a day I can tell you. Oh, and apparently it's not an April fool :-)
